Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) Chairman and Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette released the following statement on Buck Newton’s victory in tonight’sRepublican Party Primary Election for North Carolina Attorney General:
“I want to congratulate Buck Newton on securing the Republican Party nomination in tonight’sNorth Carolina Primary Election for attorney general. As a State Senator in leadership who currently serves as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Newton has keen insight on the legal issues the attorney general faces. He will defend the rule of law, push back against overreaching federal regulations that kill jobs, and he will be a strong partner in the ongoing fight against President Obama’s job-killing initiatives. I look forward to joining Buck on the campaign trail to help him become North Carolina’s next attorney general.”
Scott Will, Executive Director for RAGA added “Josh Stein’s voting record in the state senate is as liberal as they come. There’s never been a tax he didn’t applaud nor a federal program he didn’t promote. He would continue the do-nothing approach to President Obama’s federal regulations that have stymied economic growth and job creation.”
