ICYMI: Former rival among Congressmen to endorse Harold

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Just a few weeks removed from the endorsement of House Minority Leader Jim Durkin, Illinois Republicans continue to coalesce around Erika Harold's bid for attorney general, including her former rival from 2014, Congressman Rodney Davis (IL-13).

The News-Gazette reports

"Six of Illinois' seven Republican congressmen have endorsed Urbana attorney Erika Harold for the Republican nomination for Illinois attorney general, Harold's campaign announced today.

"Among those backing Harold: Rep. Rodney Davis of Taylorville, who was challenged by Harold in the 2014 Republican Party primary in the 13th Congressional District.

"'Erika Harold is exactly who we need to take on the political machine. A Harvard educated lawyer and a national leader combatting school violence, Erika Harold tells the hard truths and always stands up for those in need,' Davis said in a statement. 'I know she'll take on the corruption in state government.'"
