A new poll released this week by Iowans for Tax Relief shows that incumbent liberal Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller is in deep trouble. The poll, a survey of likely voters, shows Republican Brenna Bird with a more than four point advantage, 45.7% to 41.2%, in a head-to-head matchup with Miller. The campaign for Iowa Attorney General has yet to heat up, but Republicans have an early lead in one of the most competitive races in the country.

After four decades in office, Tom Miller’s increasingly liberal approach is out of touch with Iowans. This November, the state is poised to elect a new Attorney General who will push back against federal overreach, defend constitutional rights, and support law enforcement.

“As Iowans learn more this year about Tom Miller’s record as Attorney General, support and momentum will continue to build for Brenna Bird,” said Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) Executive Director Peter Bisbee. “This poll makes it clear that Iowans don’t want an Attorney General like Tom Miller whose actions and policies are co-opted by liberal special interests and his Democrat colleagues in California and New York. Iowans deserve an Attorney General like Brenna Bird who will stand up for their values, the rule of law, and Constitution.”
